Editorial Policy
HappyBuck exists to help real people make better money decisions. Personal finance is a high-stakes topic, so we hold our content to a clear standard: it should be accurate, practical, written in plain language, and backed by people who actually know the subject. This page explains how we work.
Who writes HappyBuck
Every article is shaped, reviewed, and stood behind by named writers with real experience in finance — not an anonymous content mill. Our work is led by our co-founders, Jeff Bishop and Nate Stavseth, who between them bring more than two decades of trading, economics, and financial-publishing experience. You can see who wrote any given piece in its byline and the “About the author” section at the end.
How we use AI
We use AI tools to help with research, drafting, and editing — the same way a modern newsroom uses software. But AI never gets the final word. Every article is directed, fact-checked, and approved by a human expert who is accountable for what it says. We publish under real names precisely because a person stands behind the advice.
Accuracy and sources
- We aim for advice that works in real life, across real budgets — not just on paper.
- For anything time-sensitive or data-driven (rates, limits, averages, “in 2026” claims), we cite credible, primary sources where possible and date the information.
- Money rules change. We review and update articles over time, and we show a publish or updated date so you know how current a piece is.
Editorial independence
HappyBuck earns money to keep the lights on, and we’re transparent about how — see How We Make Money. Those business relationships never decide our editorial conclusions. We don’t let advertisers or partners write, approve, or soften our recommendations, and we’ll happily say when something isn’t worth your money.
Corrections
We’re human, and we’d rather fix a mistake than hide it. If you spot an error, tell us at our contact page and we’ll review it promptly and correct the record when warranted.
Not personalized financial advice
HappyBuck publishes general educational information, not individualized financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. For decisions specific to your situation, consider speaking with a qualified professional. See our Terms of Use for the full disclaimer.
